Liebe Freunde und Verwandte, liebe Kollegen und Bekannte, vor einer Woche konnte ich Dank Eurer großartigen Unterstützung rund 40 Tonnen Lebensmittel an die hungrigen Bewohner von 14 Dörfern südlich von Lodwar verteilen. Worte können gar nicht beschreiben, welche Gefühle in einem vorgehen, wenn man diese Menschen und die Umstände ihres Lebens und Leidens hautnah erlebt. Ich kann eines sagen: diese letzte Woche hat mein Leben verändert. Das war nur möglich mit Eurer Unterstützung. Für Eure unermüdliche Hilfe möchte ich Euch von ganzem Herzen danken. Trotz allen Elends im Stammesgebiet der Turkana bin ich voller Hoffnungen und frohen Mutes nach Hause zurück gekehrt. Ich durfte erleben, was alles möglich ist, wenn einige Gleichgesinnte sich eine Sache zu Herzen nehmen und danach handeln. Das ist ein wundervolles Gefühl, und ich hoffe, dass sich durch unser gemeinsames Projekt auch bei Euch ein vergleichbares Gefühl eingestellt hat. Ihr dürfte mir gerne glauben: dazu habt Ihr allen Grund. Und obwohl sich in derselben Woche Jackims Unfall und seine schwere Verletzung ereignet haben, kann ich von mir behaupten, heute ein zufriedenerer Mensch zu sein. Dear Friends and Family, Dear Colleagues and Friends, A week ago I was able to distribute 40 tons of food to the hungry inhabitants of 14 villages south of Lodwar thanks to your wonderful support. Words can not describe the feelings one goes through when being confronted with these people, their circumstances and suffering firsthand. I can say one thing: this last week has changed my life. This was only possible due to your support. I would like to thank you for your tireless help with all my heart. Despite all of the misery in the tribal area of Turkana I returned home full of good hope and cheer. I was able to see what is really possible when like-minded people like yourselves take heart and make it happen. This is a wonderful feeling and I hope that you are experiencing similar feelings thanks to our combined effort. I would love to think so: as you have every reason to be. And although Jackims accident and severe injury took place in the same week, to this day I am able to say for me personally this possibility of aiding these people makes me feel very content with life.
